One thing brightened my day. Started thinking about spring and baseball. That leads to the Fantasy Baseball League that I run each year. Checked out YahooFantasy Baseball site, and sho' enough... its active! Zipped off a quick email to all of last years team members to see who is comming back, and who else wants to join up. Just the thought of it takes me out of those Winter doldrums.

Last night saw the movie Traffic. An incredible flick. Thought it was just going to be a cops and bad guy thriller, but instead it was a multi-dimensional plot line showing drug traffic's effect on many social stratas. It was a powerful movie - one that makes you think about protecting your kids... sticks in your mind a long time after seeing the film.

Followed the movie with a nice sushi dinner. Since then I've been BUMMED big time about returning to work after a really nice week with wife and kids. Well, I am here now, and bummed out... but, I guess you gotta make a $living$. Blech!

Wasted the whole freaking day on this computer. I wanted to make a little animation for my homepage (inspired by an IM icon my son made). Well, you should see it in the bar on the left, or on my home page.

Then I wasted more time, revising my homepage, and working on setting up blogger archives. 6 hours later and I am still screwing around on the computer. Enough!

Incredible day in the NYC. Drove to New Haven, hopped on Metro North to Grand Central Terminal then walked up to Museum of Modern Art. Never have I seen so many famous impressionist and modern paintings in one gallery. There was also a great exhibit called Workspace. It had some very unique concepts in work and living spaces... and it also included a showcase of Apple computer designs (Cube, iMac, iSub woofer...etc.). From MOMA, we ate at the Stage Deli, then walked down to Time Square and hung there for a while before walking back to the train to return to CT. Drove back through a horrific snow squall, but landed back safe and sound home by 8PM. Fun day! Pics are here.
American Beauty... strange and powerful flick. Hits you where you live. Most don't want to admit it... but to some degree there was something in this film that all middle class suburbinites can relate too.

Clinton Pardons... the guy is a slime ball. Always felt above the law, invincible. He showed his true colors here. Pay for pardons. Despite Dubya's right wing leanings, it was important to rid the country of the Clinton-Gore years. Man had no scruples, and Gore was his deciple.

This morning we are off to NYC.

Visited Mom and Dad for lunch today. They seem to be doing well. Should have stayed a bit longer perhaps. Cleaned up the basement... still more to do. Tomorrow... NYC! We will go to MOMA and take in some of the city. Maybe get some good pics on the digi cam. Should be fun.

Just got back from a day in Boston. Nice day... went to Gardner museum with Laura (and Claire and Rach). It was great to spend some time with her. The courtyard was very peaceful. The architecture and the collection was incredible. They had 1 rembrandt and the frames from 2 others that were stolen a few years ago! Very nice day.

Poor kittens. Claire took Sassy and Jordan to the vet to get fixed. Sassy (female) now must wear this rediculous cone around her head to keep her from biting her wounds. She is in definite pain. As Claire says "all women must suffer". Jordan escaped the knife... but guess what! He has no testicles! This sometimes happens in cats. His testicles are probably inside his body, and at a later date he must go for surgery to have them extracted or else they will cause problems down the road.

AHH! After 3 weeks of being extremely slow at work... we got bombed. I am trying to prepare for vacation and the sh*t keeps hitting the fan at work. I am hoping to get away for a few day trips next week, but the kids have all kinds of appointments that are filling up the week. I want to try to go to NYC, one day, visit Laura and Boston one day, and have lunch with Mom and Dad on Wednesday. I am concerned that work might get in the way of Vacation with the state of our network (fragile), and the complex jobs coming in next week. Gulp!

Just got back from a meeting at RHS about Rachel's trip to Quebec on Memorial weekend. It will be her first time far away from home. She chatted with her freinds (girls and boys) anticipating her big adventure. Its still a few months away, but it seems strange to have my baby girl go away from us on her own.
Testing Blogger. This is my first post. Let's see if this puppy works.
